Switch 1

Switch wiring

The  switch panel supplied with the drain valve has six leads.  Here is cross connect information for the hookup of the various switches installed.

The color code of wires used to extend the switch to valve wiring uses the same colors as the Hoppy brand connectors used for connection at the valves.  This means the lighter gauge red and black wires from the switch connect to green and white wires.  There is no issue with polarity here.  The heavy red wire from the switch connects to the heavy red wire on the valve through the yellow running/connector conductor.  The heavy white wire on the switch connects to the heavy white wire on the valve through the black running/connector conductor.  The switch also has 12 VDC connections from the service battery system.  This voltage is supplied on Red (+) and Black (-) conductors.  The Red (+) supply connection connects to the heavy Black lead on the switch through a recommended 5 Amp fuse.  The Black (-) supply connection connects to the Green lead of the switch.

The table below shows these connections:

Function Switch Wire Supply Conductor
12 + Supply Black ( Heavy ) Red
12 - Supply Green Black 1
Solenoid + Red ( Heavy ) Yellow
Solenoid - White Black 2
Mag Switch 1 Red ( Light ) Green
Mag Switch 2 Black ( Light ) White

The secondary switch, for the gray water valve is located in the vehicle cab.  Here are connection details for the secondary switch.
