Stop, flash, turn, backup, beep, etc... Exterior lighting, for the body and rear areas was customized. Hours spent on the highway looking at the rear end of trucks offered time to reflect on the design. There were some practical considerations as well. LED lights were selected for both appearance and longevity. The two practical concerns were providing illumination for the rear vision camera and making the vehicle as noticeable as possible to reduce the possibility of a rear end collision. Brake Lights We chose to have two separate red lights on each side of the rear bumper area. These would function for run/stop indication only. Separate amber lights would indicate turn signaling. To make the brake lights more outstanding, an electronic device is used to modulate, or flash, the interior red light on each side. This device "wig-wags" the lights when the brake is applied. The outside lights on each side remain on constantly, while the brake is applied, while the interior lights blink. |
